The best DJs know that Djing is first about being able to read people and then about being able to strike into that human experience and take it on a journey. For DJ Cli the above is very important, music is his first love, and what gives him a buzz is being able to share his music with others. This upcoming dj takes the crowd on a ride through a wide diversity of styles and influences all blended around DJ Cli’s trademark sound of energetic house rhythms and throbbing bass lines.

Although Cli’s influence in becoming a dj goes back in the mid ‘90s, where the early parties where hitting with a bang the maltese indigenous club culture, his first exploration into djing was in summer 2001 under the supervision of JD Frank. Thanks to JD Frank, J Joy and Cli’s cousin, Matt Fenech, he managed to learn a lot about djing techniques.

Even if DJ Cli’s first exploration was in trance music his search for his style would never leave him. Stemming from two turntables, his first musical ideas were created, and on New Year’s Eve of 2002 his style of house rhythms was played for the first time to the public at Flamingo’s Bar in Bugibba.

Several other gigs followed in different bars and clubs such as Axis, Places, Brass Monkey, Bar Funk etc. DJ Cli also played in a number of local events like for example those organized by Rype Promotion which include Joy Classix, Joy Anthems etc. In 2004 Cli was one of the finalists of a competition organized by promoters of Tribu for upcoming djs and managed to play in such an important event.

In June 2004 DJ Cli worked flat out on his first private party House that Feeling which was held at Amazonia’s VIP area. Such an event resulted in a success since the promoter decided to carry on by organizing other House that Feeling events - until now seven consecutive events in a period of 3 years. Djs like Matt Fenech, J Joy, Stevy Vee, Joseph Armani, Alvin Gee and Ross Paterson (UK) spinned the decks in these events together with a 3hr set of big tunes by Dj Cli where a vibrant and an explosive vibe boomed the dance floor.

Cli had gained his first house residency at the former Brass Monkey where he played fortnightly and in summer 2004 this new talent landed a weekly residency at Amazonia. Currently apart from playing slots at several clubs and bars in Malta and even Gozo, Dj Cli boasts two weekly residency; every Friday at Peppermint Park in Paceville and every Sunday at Freeze, Bugibba where he plays a 3 hour set of good electro-house music.

DJ Cli’s achievements do not stop here. Later on in the fall of 2006 this man kick started Sunday Sessions organized every Sunday night at Freeze Bugibba. Shortly this event gained publicity and has become one of the islands most requested Sunday event.

This dj has several projects coming up, one of which concerns House that Feeling. The promoter’s aim is to have such event gain more publicity and by time becomes one of the islands most requested event. In the near future he is also eager to get involved into production.

This man lives and breathes his art. Well, the best is yet to come, so prepare to be amazed.
